After graduating from Shorewood High School in Washington, Rika returned to Tokyo with her family to attend college at Aoyama Gakuin University. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she was hired by Fuji Xerox Tokyo, Co., Ltd., where she received extensive training on the importance of customer service. “I was assigned to maintain over 260 accounts, so the expectations were high. However, through the great training I received, as well as some determination on my part, I didn't lose a single client,” Rika says with smile.

Rika enjoys working in the legal field because she finds it challenging and rewarding. “In a globalized economy, we’re all interconnected, so it’s exciting to work with international clients—from Europe to Asia—in helping them overcome obstacles,” she says. She also enjoys being able to use her bilingual and customer service skills to help clients achieve their goals.

In her spare time, Rika enjoys reading mystery novels and satisfying her epicurean sense of adventure by tasting new foods and dining out. She and her husband also enjoy spending time with their young son.
